An Argument Against Going Backward
http://www.deltanationalpark.org/blog/view/an_argument_against_going_backward/
(The original post is offensive on several points.  Excellent rebuttal by Restore the Delta and Chris Gulick, worth the time to read, and by all means, if you have a comment or opinion, please add it to the discussion.)

Delta-Mendota Canal: Groundwater Conditions and Land Subsidence

(I think the southern end of the state should worry more about correcting this subsidence in their concrete ditch, than worry about island subsidence in the Delta.
Not so much for the aqueduct.  So Cal must take care of their real infrastructure deficiencies in securing a more reliable water supply before we literally destroy one of Nature's most beautiful of estuaries and drain it dry to satisfy So. Cal's insatiable desire for more.)

Reagan-Appointed Judge Blasts Obama for Abuse of Executive Power Regarding Guantanamo Prisoners

Under the Obama MOU, counsel for the detainees would be unable to access classified information, Guantánamo officials could cite “operational needs and logistical constraints” at any time to prevent a detainee’s access to lawyers, and Guantánamo’s military commander would have “final and unreviewable discretion” to enforce the MOU.

Slamming the last provision, Lamberth wrote that “If the separation-of-powers means anything, it is that this country is not one ruled by executive fiat. Such blanket, unreviewable power over counsel-access by the executive does not comport with our constitutional system of government.”
