Editorial: Be Skeptical of Water Promises
Chico Enterprise Record
"If history has taught us anything about water in California, it's that everybody should be extremely skeptical when somebody who wants to take your water says, "Don't worry."
That point was driven home again last week in Chico at a two-day water conference hosted by AquAlliance.
Water managers and biologists spoke about promises made and promises broken. Despite assurances that fisheries and river ecosystems would not be harmed, stories about the health of the Trinity River, Mono Lake, San Joaquin River and more prove otherwise."

"When a bill becomes “Lipperized,” it is altered into a far different bill than the original. Or the bill will die in a committee upon Lipper’s orders.
“’He has more influence than some senators,” said state Sen. Tony Strickland, R-Thousand Oaks, “but that’s not necessarily a compliment,” the Los Angeles Times reported in 2009. ” ‘You can’t fault Kip for being good at what he does,” Strickland said, “but I personally believe the voters would rather that the power lies with the people they elected.’”

Sustainable Development/Agenda 21
Yep, this critical...enough to post it twice!
Published in 1973, the nationally based Use of Land was a companion to the Club of Rome’s internationally based Limits of Growth. The Use of Land was edited by William Reilly, who would later be appointed by George H. W. Bush as the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency in 1989. Reilly also attended the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, where he advised President Bush to sign the UN Agenda 21, thereby committing the United States to Agenda 21.(As well as a member of the Delta Blue Ribbon Task Force; which through funding from the Packard Foundation, yes he sits on that BoD too, has morphed into the Delta Vision Foundation. In addition to all of his other vast and varied international obligations which can be accessed here: http://www.muckety.com/William-K-Reilly/4690.muckety )

California Oyster Farm Sues U.S. Government to Keep Business
This is not about 'privatizing' Drakes Estero, this is about the U.S. Government honoring its word (Native Americans can snort/laugh at that one) of renewing leases in 40 year intervals in perpetuity. I find the missing word 'perpetuity' somewhat disturbing. Without that critical word inserted into the dialogue, then it does appear the U.S. Gov't can opt not to renew the leases. Don't forget this is a 'working landscape' in this NPS controlled area...I also say "heads up potential 'willing sellers' in the Delta, this can happen to you'.
