Bullet Train's Low Operating Costs are 'Elephant in the Room', Experts Say
http://californiawatch.org/dailyreport/bullet-trains-low-operating-costs-are-elephant-room-experts-say-15973
The rail authority contends that its operating cost projections are sound, derived from a sophisticated computer model. The system will turn a profit and won’t require operating subsidies, rail officials insist.
He said he and his co-authors have repeatedly asked the rail authority for the data that underlies their calculation of the bullet train’s projected operating costs. The rail authority hasn’t made the information public, he said.
Sound familiar??

Delta Levee Conference, May 2 Last Chance to Register

(Just one tiny, little bone to pick here..why do events like this always say:
provide you with the opportunity to hear from water exporters, environmentalists, Delta residents and state and federal officials.
in the plural, when we're lucky to have the one??  Right on, Steve Mello!! If they want to hear from Delta residents, why don't they stack the agenda with people like, Mr. Nomellini, Mr. Zuckerman, Mr. Hemley, Ms. Terry, Mr. Guy, to name just a few??  Then the day would more accurately reflect and represent ALL parties concerned.

It is still offensive to continually be denied an equal opportunity to represent our interests, our plights if you will.  The only genuine consistency within this ramrod of a process is the lack of equal representation in any one, let alone all three rings, of this circus.)
