Megaphoning Dr. Pyke

(The main reason Sherman Island is detrimental to farming is because it flooded years ago and that salt-laden water that flooded Sherman Island rendered the soils nearly useless to agriculture, or extremely limited in what agricultural activities it could support.  To me, an excellent example of why our existing levee system is not only critical to, but part and parcel of our water supply quality, reliability and risk management.  History, if one takes the time to learn it, will explain exactly why some things are the way they are...learn it or repeat it, your choice.)

(Mr. Berryhill has proven himself a true leader in our efforts to protect and defend the Delta, all of her resources and assets.  If you are so led, any help you may contribute would help provide the means for Mr. Berryhill to succeed.  He wins, we win and so does the Delta.)

(The fact that the Dutch allow a full 10 decades, 1 complete century, 100 individual years to accomplish something worthwhile over time says more about how they manage their risk and resources.  Not like the current cram it down our throats while simultaneous shoving it up our backsides in 3 years, less than 1000 days.  Well when smoke and mirrors, bait and switch and outright water/land grabs are the methods of choice by the perpetuates of our current water debacle, this is what we get.)
