Peripheral Tunnel Plan Details Released at Public Meeting
http://www.fishsniffer.com/blogs/details/peripheral-tunnel-plan-details-released-at-public-meeting/
“They are trying to take charge and represent this new plan as a phoenix rising out of the ashes,” said Burt Wilson of Public Water News Service. “The original BDCP crashed and burned. It failed once with the National Academy of Scientists, who said the plan just supported conveyance. Then the latest attempt was trashed by the Independent Science Board, who said the plan could hasten the extinction of winter run Chinook salmon, Delta smelt and longfin smelt."

Some groups have already signed confidentiality agreements to participate in the talks, but officials clarified this week that for now, at least, the informal proceedings are open to the public.
Later they may go behind closed doors.

Hurricane Hypocricy
“No one can forget the iconic picture of President George Bush flying on Air Force one..looking down at New Orleans during Katrina,” gushed NBC’s Andrea Mitchell just before the beginning of the Republican convention. Katrina hit New Orleans on August 29, 2005. Bush flew over the city two days later. Hurricane Issac also hit Louisiana on August 29th. Thus a question for Andrea and her pals: Will you “remember” that the current president didn’t even bother to fly over, much less visit Louisiana until September 3rd? And will you tell the American people he had no plans to do so until Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney visited the flood-ravaged areas of that state last Friday and forced his hand?

The Medium Is The Message, Cowboy
http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/49227#When:10:27:34Z
When someone needs to “go down” or be “let go,” an adult does the job and does it decisively. Eastwood is really the standard bearer for all the cowboys who go into battle and stand for good and against evil. But as the man on the platform with a future President of the United States, his role was also that of the man calmly and courageously telling the world that a new sheriff is in town, a man who like the cowboy of old will take on the bad guys, keep his promises, and take care of us and our families. Plainspeak instead of bafflegab, the world and America breathed a sigh of relief. The message was delivered effectively, received, and understood.
It certainly was in China, at any rate…

The Sand Man Cometh...
http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/49228#When:10:25:32Z
“A torrential downpour that struck Charlotte on Saturday afternoon damaged the Mount Rushmore-style sand sculpture bust of President Obama—an ominous beginning to what many fear is a plagued convention.” (Washington Times, Sept. 1, 2012)  “Workers were trying Saturday afternoon to reform the base of the sculpture, built from sand brought in from Myrtle Beach, S.C., pounding and smoothing out the sand that had washed off the facade of the waist-up rendering of the chief executive.”
(This is just too good to pass up!  I think maybe God/Universe is replying symbolically to their symbols...oh the irony!!)

You see, no where in there does it dictate that the state shall tell a man what he can do with his property, nor does it tell mankind that the state grants Rights, that we live under the ‘privilege’ of the state.  Nowhere does it say that the state shall provide solely for our protection, but that we are entitled to protect ourselves.

There are some conservatives who love the Republican Party so much they will not step back and ask themselves if the party is really lovable. The rest of us have a message to deliver to those love-blinded enthusiasts.  This week the party was anything but lovable. Michelle Malkin wrote on Wednesday:
I have no patience for the Republican party-bots telling these front-line soldiers to shut up in the name of unity — and to hide ‘in-fighting’ because the Left will publicize it… It should be publicized.”

"I think the country is in desperate trouble," he said. "I hate to say I'm pessimistic, but I'm very pessimistic. The party that I once thought stood for individual liberty has morphed into the same party as the Democrats. They're both big government, Wall Street–dominated parties.
